Giving for a Reason
If you're thinking about giving to a charity this year, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They have provided an incredible environment for my family as we walk this journey through cancer with our 3 year old little girl. Their services range from complete medical care to housing, groceries and fun-filled events for the patient and their families and this all comes free of charge. If you decide to give to such a wonderful cause, please know that you are making it possible for another family to walk through illness without the burden of financial strain. You'll never know the difference you might make in someone's life.
Well, I eloped when I was 19 years old and have had the pleasure of finding out, in the past 8 1/2 years, that I married my soulmate. I have a feeling the very Hand of God had something to do with our success and endurance. I have a son who, at times, seems to be a grown man trapped in a seven year old's body. He enjoys talking, talking and talking. He is an absolute joy to parent and has a wonderful sense of humor. I also have a daughter who's 3 years old. She was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in January 2008 and this has totally changed me as a person and as a mom. I won't say it's easy, because it's not, but I've learned the art of selective amnesia and laughing at inappropriate times. It might be stressful, it might be chaotic, it might even be scary, but it's my life and it's what makes me, "me".
